Kingston Foreshore

Kingston Foreshore

The Old Bus Depot Markets is a prominent part of the exciting redevelopment area of the Kingston Foreshore, a beautiful part of Canberra where the city meets the stunning shores of Lake Burley Griffin. 19 years ago the Old Bus Depot Markets was the very first cultural attraction to begin at the Foreshore, and set in motion the rapid transformation that has made the area what it is today. The Old Bus Depot Market is now an anchor attraction in the area and provides a great concluding destination for all those exploring the surrounding neighborhood as well as a great place to kick off a walk or ride around the lake.

In addition to the Markets and the Canberra Glassworks which opened in 2007, there will soon be many more reasons to visit as the shores take of Lake Burley Griffin. The development is already starting to take shape, transforming into an enriching hub full of things to do. Think foreshore parklands, waterfront promenades, cafes, and outstanding cultural facilities.

It is the vision of the ACT Government that the Kingston Foreshore will bring together the city and the lake, creating a waterfront haven and a vibrant, cosmopolitan environment where Canberran’s and visitors can live, work and play.
