Immerse yourself in a world of colour and creativity at the nationally award winning Old Bus Depot Markets in Canberra every Sunday – Canberra’s Sunday best. The Market focuses on talented local and regional designers and craftspeople who each week bring their unique handcrafted wares to showcase at the Market.

OBDM-stalls

Not your average market, each week you will find over 200 stalls of exceptional quality, featuring items all handcrafted by local and regional people. Gorgeous, stylish designs, the latest trends in clothing and accessories – it’s all at the Old Bus Depot Markets.

Located in the exciting and up-and-coming redevelopment area, the Kingston Foreshore, this beautiful market is set amongst some of Canberra’s most spectacular scenery. The city meets the lake aside Wentworth Avenue where the Old Bus Depot is located. An historical Canberra icon, this building dates back to early Canberra, when it was originally used as a transport hub.

Touch, taste, smell, feel and listen, the Old Bus Depot Markets is a truly sensory experience. Let the aroma of freshly brewed coffee greet you as you enter, then as you peruse the stalls enjoy the scents of spice and sweets. The warm smell of freshly baked bread drifts through the air as you explore the gourmet food hall of the Market. Pick up a snack, a bite to eat or a hot meal, eat in or take it home. While you’re eating or shopping, you’ll be entertained by some of Canberra’s most talented musicians and entertainers, all while taking in the lively atmosphere.

In addition to the various Theme Events that run throughout the year, we also have a schedule of themed Sunday’s to bring even more specialist stallholders to the markets. You can enjoy Multicultural SundayCollectable Sunday and Designer Sunday – and all of the wonderful products that come along with them – every month.

Pick up everything from a new outfit to a new armchair, or how about some soy candles to freshen up your home, some beautiful artwork will also do the trick. From fresh produce to fresh fashion, home wares to homemade, you’re sure to find it at the Old Bus Depot Markets. Whether you’re visiting to shop or not, you’ll most likely leave with either a special something for you, or someone else. From antique china, jewellery, fabrics, children’s artwork, cushions of all shapes and sizes, clothing and accessories, there really is something for everyone.

We love your pets as much as you do, but we are unable to allow them in the markets unless they’re authorised Assistance Dogs (Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs or Service Dogs).

  • Market Entertainment: October 2018
    This October we celebrate the best of the swingin' 50's with a free taster class run by the award-winning Canberra Swing Katz on 11am for Retro Depot. Also on for the month are two performers strongly influenced by the late great Johnny Cash. It's the return of The Guitar Cases and the first performance at the Markets by Andy Nelson.
  • Canberra Swing Katz
    To celebrate the best of the swingin' 50's Swing Katz will hold a free taster class for Retro Depot this 14 October. Swing Katz is a passionate group of dancers that invites people to try swing dancing in a friendly, no-pressure environment.
