Spotlight on Buskers: The Guitar Cases
Part of any good day out at the markets is the entertainment. Whether you stop to watch our talented buskers do their thing, or just enjoy their music as background to your shopping expedition, we all agree we just wouldn’t be the same without our talented bunch of performers. This month we put the spotlight on The Guitar Cases with their folk-blues style.
The Guitar Cases are Andy Daniels and Andrew Tatnell who draw inspiration from blues, folk, country and rock. Andrew best describes The Guitar Cases’ style as ‘outlaw country and folk influenced blues’, and says their music is very much influenced by Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. Both from Canberra, they’ve been performing together for almost five years, writing their often introspective songs with everything from songs that explore love to social, spiritual and environmental themes.
The Guitar Cases are loved by our stallholders and visitors alike, and Andrew says what he enjoys most about performing live at the markets is when kids come and dance to their music…oh and when some nice stallholders pass on tasty food for them to enjoy!
Catch them next at the markets from 10am on Sunday 22 March.
