NEW: Grab a little greenery from Lily’s Garden Gifts
Sometimes you just want a little green to brighten your day. And that’s just how Canberra local, Kathryn Flockton, started her business Lily’s Garden Gifts.
Working and studying full time, Kathryn was looking for a good de-stresser and as she enjoyed gardening it just made sense. She is super creative with greenery, taking succulents and creating garden gifts for any occasion including office décor, home and birthdays. And these terrariums created mainly in recycled jars and containers are splendidly cute too. Kathryn trawls the local op shops and businesses that give back to the community for sweet vessels for her works – often ceramic or glass plates, bowls, teapots, fishbowls, glasses – basically anything that can be filled with stones and plants.
She creates her works from her art space in her Canberra home, with her signature small metal cranes placed lovingly in each work. In Japanese, Chinese and Korean culture, the crane stands for good fortune, prosperity and longevity, making it a beautiful addition to her garden gifts which go just as nice indoors as out. You can find Kathryn and Lily’s Garden Gifts at the markets every second or third Sunday.
