Named after London’s famed Portobello Road which is home to the world’s largest antiques markets, Portobello Road in August on Sunday 14 August is our markets’ turn to showcase small antiques and collectables, on a much smaller scale of course. This time around there will be more than 20 collectors on site showcasing an eclectic mix of quirky and interesting treasures. Rummage through old books, antique jewellery, china and art glass, silverware and restored pieces.

New this year is Empire Stamps, and you simply SHOULD NOT miss seeing what they have this month if you’re a serious collector. Business owner, Chris Swinbank, will bring his high quality vintage collections from Old Parliament House, Duntroon and from the Commonwealth Public Service, as well as stamps and covers. All items are top quality. This Canberra based collector will have a range of memorabilia from Old Parliament House on offer including vintage silverware and platters, as well as military uniforms from Duntroon. So take that walk down Portobello Road this month, it’s sure to be a collector’s heaven.
