Gorgeous knits to warm you up

Old Bus Depot Markets Stallholder: Nullarbor NightsAlice Pettirosso is one busy woman. She runs Nullarbor Nights, an Australian based knitwear company which she established in 1991. Both a machine knitter and textile artist, Alice lives in Canberra and makes a real assortment of garments from her own workshop in Queanbeyan.

Using Australian extra fine Merino wool, pure Swiss silk, alpaca, Italian Mohair and French and Belgian linen yarns, she makes her own designs,  knits fabrics to be made into garments, then hand dyes them so that each garment is totally unique. Specialising primarily in women’s clothing, her pieces include scarves, wraps, jackets, ponchos, tops, dresses and jackets. All garments can be made to measure to fit clients’ body type and choice of colour.

Having been at the markets for three to four years now, you can meet Alice almost every Sunday where you can browse and buy from her collection. She’ll also match colours for you so if you already have a garment you’d like to match with a scarf or wrap etc, Alice can help you out with an item specially made.
