Award-winning author graces our market
You can often find award winning author Anthony Hill at the Markets sharing stories and signing copies of his critically acclaimed books, including his latest release The Story of Billy Young.
Hill’s books have always had the wonderful ability to appeal to a young audience as well as adult readers, and The Story of Billy Young is no exception. It’s a timeless account of what Billy the Kid faced as one of Australia’s youngest prisoners of war and Hill tells it in a way that is both accurate and captivating. A tale of suffering, endurance and survival and written specifically for adults and senior secondary students, The Story of Billy Young is impossible to put down.
Funnily enough, it was this time six years ago at the Old Bus Depot Markets that Anthony Hill first heard about the story of Billy Young, from a visiting relative. That very moment planted a seed in his mind and from then until publication this year; Hill passionately worked on the story, working closely with Billy Young himself. An established author, you might have read Hill’s book Soldier Boy during your time at school, or perhaps your children are reading it now?
