Artworks capture Canberra’s coffee scene

Canberra born and bred artist Michael Ashley has always loved his city. Operating his business, Leafy Sea Dragon Artwork, Michael was looking for a new and different way to capture Canberra and was inspired by the Canberra coffee scene and the places he frequents with his family.

Out of this he has created his Coffee Series artworks. Michael visits local cafes taking digital photos then outlines and colours them digitally using coffee inspired colours in tones of brown to create a type of digital lino print. The series, which was just released at the markets last month, includes popular Canberra cafes such as Tilleys, Lonsdale Roasters, Gus’ Café, the Street Theatre Coffee Shop and of course our markets.

These works are available as A3 size digital prints and are limited to just 100 per print. Michael attends the market most weeks with his other Leafy Sea Dragon Artwork products including prints, greeting cards, tea towels, Australian horoscope bookmarks and his very own children’s book, Clara the Koala.
