Ethiopian eats are just delish!
It’s hard to go past the delicious aromas of authentic Ethiopian food that waft from one of our original and most popular food stalls, Fekerte’s Ethiopian Cuisine.
For the past 20 years, Fekerte has been creating a selection of dishes based on her own favourite recipes. The flavours are distinctive and use a mix of traditional spices not commonly found in the West. Popular dishes include the Keywat which is a spicy beef curry, but not too hot. Mild lentil curries and her meat and/or lentil samosas are also well worth a try.
Fekerte, originally from Ethiopia, came to Australia in 1985 and kicked off her market stall with her husband in 1994. The popularity of her food saw her open her own restaurant of the same name which operated for the past ten years, closing late last year. Fekerte is now keen to try out some of her new dishes at the markets so be sure to stop by for a tasty experience on your next visit.
