One (wo)man’s trash…
There’s truth in the old saying ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’, and Annie Storey proves it by creating the most stunning water features and garden ornaments from reclaimed copper.
From her workshop on the outskirts of Canberra, Annie creates an original range which includes water fountains, suitable for indoors or outdoors, as well as table fountains, wall flowers and garden stakes.
Her works are all made using copper from scrap metal yards where she finds coppers, hot water systems and copper trays which she then dismantles and cuts into shapes to be forged over an anvil and welded together. She also uses down pipes, fridge and gas tubing, electrical wire & water pipes for the stems and reeds. Works feature intricate lotus leaves and pods, heart leaves, birds of paradise and other flowers and can be individually customised.
Having now been at the markets for around 15 years, Annie is onsite most weekends with a range of her works on show.
