G’day! Ever wondered about the bloke behind the sizzling flavours and mouth-watering aromas at Rick N’Roll? That’s me, Ricky, and my journey to bringing you Canberra’s best K-food has been a bit of a wild ride, to say the least!

My culinary adventure kicked off way back in 2009. Since then, I’ve pretty much seen it all in the kitchen. From the polished chaos of 5-star hotels and the meticulous precision of fine dining restaurants to the buzzing energy of cafes and the late-night grind of clubs – I’ve cooked in nearly every kind of establishment you can imagine. It was a cracking experience, learning the ropes and honing my skills with some of the best in the business.

But through all the high-end plating and fancy techniques, there was always this undeniable pull, a nagging craving for street food. Don’t get me wrong, whipping up a sophisticated dish has its own kind of fun. But the real joy, the genuine buzz, always came from connecting directly with people at markets and events. There’s just something about serving up delicious, accessible food and seeing happy faces right there on the spot that high-end kitchens couldn’t quite match.

For years, I told myself, “One day, I’ll do it. I’ll launch my own food truck.” But life, as it does, kept throwing curveballs. It wasn’t an easy road, preparing for this dream for what felt like ages, battling through the hurdles and doubts. It’s been a proper grind, to be honest.

Yet, here we are! Rick N’Roll is finally a reality, and while I know it’s going to be tough, I’m absolutely stoked. This isn’t just about selling food; it’s about sharing my passion, connecting with you mob, and having a bloody good time doing it.
