Ashculme Textiles
Overview
Ashculme Textiles was created by mother and daughter duo, Fiona and Roswitha in 2016, in the beautiful Riverina region of NSW where they run a small herd of Suri Alpacas. Fiona is a weaver and textile artist, weaving clothing and accessories with the yarn from their alpacas
Fiona dyes the yarn using both natural dyes and local flora. By using the leaves from the local eucalyptus trees, the subtle colours reflect this environment they call home. Each eucalypt dyed piece is imbued with the essence of the bush. Only natural dyes that are sustainable and colourfast are used. Ashculme Textiles is environmentally conscious. No plastics are used and as much as possible they use rainwater for all dyeing and washing, with the waste water running out into the garden. All dyes used are natural and colourfast, either purchased, grown or foraged from bushland.
Alongside their Suri yarn, she uses Australian Merino and occasionally silk. Ashculme Textiles products are registered as Australian Made.
From the design details to the hemstitching, each piece is handmade exclusively by Fiona.
They are designed with the wearer in mind, to add style to any outfit or be that extra piece everyone notices.
