Upwardly Mobiles for the young and young at heart

Julie Blucher image twoJulie Blucher of Upwardly Mobiles has been at the markets almost since our very first one 20 years ago. But she still loves seeing the delight on children’s faces as they select from her range of brightly coloured finger puppets and mobiles.  Julie designs and makes a variety of quirky and vibrant mobiles and finger puppets in her Canberra home and the entire range is hand stitched – no machining at all!

Her finger puppets are incredibly popular with children and are also a great resource for school teachers. Julie has over 40 different puppet designs including many animals, pirates, mermaids, kings and queens. Julie says they’re popular as they make great inexpensive gifts, and are something small that parents can buy for their children to take home from the markets without spending a fortune.

Her Australian animals mobiles are very popular, and children also love the nursery rhyme inspired mobiles such as Hey Diddle Diddle, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Old MacDonald. Try out the finger puppets and watch the mobiles spin each and every Sunday at the markets.
