Spotlight on Buskers: Lucy Sugerman
This month we put the spotlight on 14 year old local singer songwriter, Lucy Sugerman. What were you doing at 14 years old? Lucy is one dedicated girl with a dream to become a full time performing and recording artist, and she manages to perform regularly, play piano, guitar, violin and drums amongst school, dance and other teenage pursuits.
Performing many gigs each month, Lucy plays at every kind of event – from government, corporate, community events, weddings, markets, to open mic nights at the local pub. In 2015, Lucy won the ‘Best Performance of an Original Song‘ in the Youth Traditions Awards at Illawarra Folk Festival, ‘Best Solo Artist’ in the CIT School Stars Comp, and she won the Canberra 2015 Lift off Music Competition. Her angelic voice well beyond her years and incredible range surprises and captivates the audience. Her thought provoking and inspiring lyrics resonate with all, old and young.
Lucy will be with us at the markets on Sunday 10 April from 1 – 2pm, where she’ll be playing covers and originals on her acoustic guitar and keyboard.
