Soy Candles? Soy Good!

Old Bus Depot Markets Stallholder: Natural Soy Candles

We caught up with Jacqui Bettio who spoke to us about her gorgeous soy candles. You may have come across Jacqui’s stall at some point during a visit to the markets, easily recognisable by the touches of hot pink. The candles are all handmade each week for the markets, and the bonus? If you keep the empty glass and bring it back in, Jacqui will re-fill it for half-price.

So not only are her products all natural and animal friendly, they are also sustainable and better for the environment. Why settle for store bought candles when there is a unique, handmade and natural option available?  Jacqui has been passionately making her own candles and blending her own fragrances for over eight years and has been with us at the markets for seven.

Just like us she finds the market atmosphere warm and friendly and its one of her favourite parts about her business. Long lasting friendships and great memories have contributed to her being a market fixture for so long – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Did we mention the candles also double as a moisturiser for your skin? Let the wax cool slightly and rub on skin while still soft then let the natural soy wax work its magic. French Pear has to be her most popular fragrance, and we know why. This delicious scent is one you will not find in stores. Delicate notes of pear are complimented by just the right amount of sweetness, a truly warming scent and one she is always receiving compliments for. Next time you’re at the markets be sure to stop by Jacqui’s stall: just follow your nose!
