NEW: Delicious brownie sandwiches from The Hungry Brown Cow

Canberrans sure do love a new food product – something that looks pretty, they can take photos of and with, and that tastes delicious. And Canberrans have not been disappointed with the new Hungry Brown Cows as evidenced by the fact that they were completely sold out before midday at their first ever Market. So, what’s a brown cow? Two delicious soft chewy, gooey brownies filled with rich artisan fillings – a brownie sandwich if you will.

These babies are the brainchild of local man, Will Cowie. A high school cooking teacher by trade, Will just loves baking and was spending time learning and cooking with another local foodie, Geoff at Bombolini (awesome filled doughnuts), when he wanted to create a product of his own. And so brown cows were born – and they’re damn delicious! Will experiments with flavours that work well with the brownie and creates fillings made from fresh ingredients.

With around 12 flavours, he will rotate flavour combinations each week offering about five varieties to market goers. Flavours include choc peppermint, jaffa, salted caramel, peanut butter, strawberry cheesecake and choc hazelnut. He’s also created an adults-only ‘drunk cow’ variety using whisky and coffee liqueur. Delish! So Moo-ve along quick to taste a brown cow on your next market visit.
