Market Entertainment: May 2018

25 April, 2018

We hope you enjoyed last month’s performances. The month was opened and closed by the cool jazzy numbers of Lambert & Co. We even had special performance by Kevin Laso and Liam Wright who righteously beat new life to the food hall. What’s more is that James Bennett is still to come!

Looking forward, we’ve got a treat lined up that’s sure to make you feel warm and fuzzy. Tessa Devine will be gracing the markets for the first time in a long time. She’ll be serenading the markets during one of our busiest times of the year, the Canberra Wool Expo. Several talents are also scheduled throughout the month including Accidental Luddites, Guyy and the Fox, and Jazzy Jumpers who are fundraising for their upcoming competition in the States. We’ll see you around!

Tessa Devine

This one woman band and International touring artist Tessa Devine is currently taking to home soil touring Nationally. Tessa will take you on a journey looping her unique percussive guitar style and haunting vocal harmonies; these strings are full of stories. Mixing indie folk pop with surfy tribal roots and a quirky personality, you have her unique performance. See her Facebook page to learn more.

Accidental Luddites

Accidental Luddites is a Canberra duo which performs a range of original and cover songs. Don plays almost every instrument known to man including guitar, bass, ukulele and harmonica. Louise is the quintessential accidental Luddite but is able to operate her vocal chords without too many spanners ending up in the works. Their music spans the old and the new and anything from a little bit of country to some Aussie rock – pretty much something for everyone to enjoy. Oh and they love it when the kids help out with percussion or just sing along. Have glimpse of their performances on the duo’s Facebook Page.

Jazzy Jumpers

This rope-skipping club is based at Amaroo School in Canberra’s north. Their skippers compete at State, National and International competitions as well as perform all over the Canberra region. They’re currently fundraising for their upcoming competition in the US. Support the Jazzy Jumpers on their scheduled performance at the Old Bus Depot and visit their website to learn more.
