100% handcrafted by Rosemary

13 December, 2012

Old Bus Depot Markets Stallholder: Rosemary’s HandcraftsUnique designs and attention to detail are just two of the characteristics of the amazing array of toys, novelties and handcrafted gifts created by Rosemary Benton from Rosemary’s Handcrafts. From large teddy bears to small hand puppets, Rosemary’s menagerie includes everything from dogs and frogs to monkeys and wombats. In fact, Rosemary boasts more than 300 product lines, all 100% unique and created with 100% handcrafted care.

And at this time of year, it’s all about the Christmas range. Think teddy bear and mice angels for the tree, handcrafted Christmas stockings just right for grown-ups, and who can go past the Festive Fragrant Ferret? This little guy is so filled with the Christmas spirit, he even smells the part with his unique blend of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

Rosemary has been sewing ever since she was a child. With a background in theatrical costumes in the United Kingdom, her arrival in Canberra in the 1970s necessitated a career shift, and she began making her colourful critters and needlework creations at home.

Whilst her products are particularly popular with the kids, some of Rosemary’s handiworks walk off the shelves for the adults as well. Her velvet cats with fluffy tails are particularly popular for the young at heart, along with her range of novelty bookmarks.
