Get ready for those fibre feelings…
Sunday 17 July 2016 will see a wide range of talented fibre and textile artists showcase their extensive artworks at this year’s, Creative Fibre. This will be the event’s 12th year, allowing visitors to engage with the artists, and find out more about their textile speciality and the processes involved. Aesthetic and fun products, paper makers, spinners, print makers, block printers, felters and free-form fibre artists, just to name a few, will come from around the region to take part.
Rebecca Tregurtha, owner of Blue Radish, will be attending the markets for the first time, showcasing her nature inspired, hand printed and handmade items. “I am looking forward to being a part of the event and to have my screen-printing featured amongst all of the other different fabric and textiles artists,” says Rebecca. Creative Fibre is a great opportunity for new emerging textile and fibre artists to present their work and receive feedback from the friendly markets’ visitors.
Designer Amy Predovan of A & M Millinery has been creating custom made hats and fascinators for two years and it will be her second time at Creative Fibre. “I am looking forward to the whole experience of seeing everyone’s handmade items, I like how unique my stall will be compared to the others,” says Amy.
Come and check out the event where you can mix it with the region’s textile artists – people who design, print on fabric, weave, make baskets, knit, hand dye fabric and more – learn about the processes involved and take home original works. Sunday 17 July.
