Ash & Clay – skincare as nature intended

4 September, 2014

Old Bus Depot Markets Stallholder, Ash & Clay products (Hemp & Pine Serum and Lime & Cedarwood Shaving Serum)Sometimes some of the best life changes can happen after tragedy. After local Canberran mother of three Kim lost her father to cancer 18 months ago she realised it was time for a life change and to try out an idea she’d long been brewing – an all-natural skin care range.

Her new venture Ash & Clay offers a range of skin care for babies, men and women, and the basis of her skincare is as nature intended. That is with no chemicals or preservatives, and no animal testing. All Kim’s products are made from her home in Canberra and include facial serums, cleansers, volcanic ash scrubs, dry-mix face scrubs, baby healing balms and more. As the business name suggests, most products have an ash and/or clay base which gives a real earthy feel. Her men’s products are also really taking off with beard serums, beard washes, hand creams and aftershave lotions.

Kim is genuinely passionate about natural skin care and makes it affordable for the people of Canberra. Where possible she sources her products locally, for instance she sources her beeswax from Murrumbateman. Kim says her products aren’t magic, but encourages people to give natural Ash & Clay products a go.

She will be at the markets every second weekend, so give Ash & Clay a go on your next visit.
