Tigs Togs will woo you with luscious wool creations
Knitting is in Megan Carey’s blood. Literally. Her mother, grandmother and sisters knit, and she’s been doing so since she was eight years old. She even made her own jumper from a pattern at the mere age of 10! Now Megan brings her luscious woollen creations to the markets with her business Tigs Togs.
She started at the markets in March this year and her hand knitted and crocheted clothing is being very well received by the Canberra and region community. Megan designs some of her own pieces, and also uses tried and tested patterns, to create high quality scarves, beanies, cowls, ponchos, skirts and cardigans. All of the items are hand made with all knitting and crocheting done by Megan personally, which keeps this retired high school teacher from the NSW South Coast super busy. She sources her wool from all over Australia, and online both here and in the UK. All of the items are modern and comfy in a stunning range of colours, and make the perfect accessories for the colder winter weather – particularly with the addition of cute vintage buttons to some garments.
You can find Megan from Tigs Togs at the Markets for A Celebration of Wool on Sunday 15 May, and on other Sundays depending on availability of products.
