Quirky ceramics from Meg White
Sometimes passions can begin, get lost in everyday life, and then be found again in the most unexpected of times and places. Meg White did a course in pottery at an interstate TAFE almost 40 years ago, but it was to be another 21 years before she took it up again after moving to Canberra and looking for something to help her occupy her time as her children got older. Today she’s still creating her vibrant, and somewhat quirky Ceramic Pottery by Meg.
All of Meg’s works are mould based ceramics, and her moulds are made by a glass mould maker. She creates brightly coloured domestic ware including fun teapots, cups, jugs and platters, in all different shapes, as well as outdoor ware. You’ll never see a more vivid range of bird feeders, ceramic native birds, flower pots and scarecrow fairies – all of which have been fired to withstand Canberra’s iconic winter frosts.
Meg has some great new designs on the way so look out for them over the coming months. Ceramic Pottery by Meg is at the markets on most Sundays of the year.
