International Crafts and Food

We're taking International Day to new heights. If want to explore all the sensations from the different cultures around the world, then this is the day for you!

What might you find? We will be hosting stallholders who specialise in items inspired by various cultures that covers a range of categories such as clothing, accessories, and especially FOOD! But that's not all. We'll also host musical entertainment to celebrate a fun and festive day at the markets.


Macrame Pot Hangers with Annette Boyd - 14 July, 2019 - 10am & 1pm

In this two and a half hour workshop, you will learn several basic macrame knots - handy for making all kinds of home decor items and accessories.

You will take home a beautiful plant hanger of your own design. All materials are included. Each participant will walk home with their own macrame pot hanger made from 100% cotton.

Two sessions are available: 10:00am-12:30pm, and 1:00pm-3:30pm.

 

Additional Information:

  • The workshop will be held at the Old Bus Depot Markets
  • This workshop is suitable for beginners
  • Adult supervision is required for those under 16 years
  • This workshop is for the Creative Fibre event on 14 July, 2019

 

ABOUT ANNETTE

Annette, from Annette Boyd Art and Design, uses natural materials to create beautiful handmade Macramé sculptures, hanging pots and wall hangers. She has also been a casual stallholder at the Old Bus Depot Markets.

Annette is well-known throughout Canberra as an artist, maker, and teacher. She uses natural materials to create beautiful handmade Macramé sculptures, hanging pots, and kooky owls.

See an assortment of Indian block-printed textiles, handcrafted South African hair combs, and Nepalese jewellery just to get started. Food will also be a big highlight for the day with cuisines from Ethiopia, Laos, Italy and a whole lot more. But what good would it do to taste delicious food and look through beautiful handcrafts without fun, festive music? You don't want to miss the many colourful performances we've got in store for International Crafts and Food.
