Christmas & Collectables Weekend

This event will run on:

  • Saturday 22nd December from 10am-4pm
  • Sunday 23rd December from 10am-4pm

By this time, we're so close to the holidays! And you can bet our stallholders are aware and everyone's in the holiday spirits. If ever there was a time to do any last minute shopping, this would be it. Like our Markets for December, we've extended Collectable Sundays for the whole weekend.

Fancy yourself as a collector? On the fourth Sunday of the month, we highlight collectables – anything from records, to furniture and antiques. If it’s worth collecting, you’ll find it here.  On Collectable Sunday, we host a range of different stallholders who deal in an ever-changing stock of collectable items including ceramics and glassware, china and vintage clothing. If you’re into collecting smaller items, you’ll find things like small antiques, lamps and vinyl records. Larger collectables featured on this day include furniture such as Chippendale chairs.

Christmas & Designer Weekend

This event will run on:

  • Saturday 15th December from 10am-4pm
  • Sunday 16th December from 10am-4pm

The Christmas Weekends continue and so we've decided to give our designer theme an injection of the holiday spirit on both Saturday and Sunday! Looking to give that special someone a uniquely designed blouse, dress, or pin? Or just looking for a pace to stroll and enjoy the nice summer weather? Don't miss our on our Christmas-themed Designer Weekend.

The theme of Designer Sunday is typically held on the third Sunday of every month and it showcases fresh-thinking Australian designers, makers, and artists. See dynamic groups of creatives featuring their awesome designs in jewellery, fashion, accessories, homewares, and artwork. Designer Sunday will feature many of our stallholders who previously attended Bling on Sundays, but we’ll also have several new, innovative designers joining in.

Super Christmas Weekend

All our stallholders are welcome for this weekend making sure you have a wide selection of goodies to choose from. So what are you waiting for? Spread those holiday cheers!

It will truly be a fun filled weekend for the whole family with so many exciting attractions in store:

Canberra Jumping Castles

Location: Front of the Markets

Bouncy castle anyone? You truly can’t go wrong with this fan-favourite. Always with a queue, Canberra Jumping Castles will be joining us again for Christmas Kids. They specialise in giving kids a great time and giving mums and dads a well-deserved break.

Noah’s Ark Farm Friends

Location: Grassy area in front of the Markets

Throughout our events, kids have really enjoyed our petting zoo with cute and loveable animals that never fail to put a smile on their face and pique their curiosity. They provide a great way to get up close and enjoy farm animals in a fun, safe, and clean environment.

Canberra Reptile Zoo

Location: Foreshore space (at the front)

Possibly as much of a contrast as you can get from animals, but certainly just as adorable are reptiles from the Canberra Reptile Zoo. They’re one of Australia’s most passionate in caring for reptiles housing lizards, turtles, and snakes to name a few.

Poplar Corner Pony Rides

Location: Grassy area in front of the Markets

Wasn’t it always the best thing to dream of a pony when we were little? Poplar helps make this dream come true by letting kids enjoy a pony ride. With over 20 years service to Canberra and the surrounding region, they provide professional support for all aspects of horse and rider needs.

Ernest the Elf

Location: Second level by the ramp

Who doesn’t love Ernest? Ever Santa’s little helper, he never fails to put on a fabulous show to entertain the kids. Expect loads of laughter abound when Ernest is in around. He comes from The Fool Factory which supplies a diverse range of roving and stage comic character entertainment.

Santa Claus

Dates: Saturdays and Sundays: 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th December

Last, but certainly not least, is Santa himself. You heard that right! The one and only Santa Claus will be riding his sleigh ride to the Markets for all the kids to meet and greet. But remember to behave. He’s known to have a list of who’s naughty and who’s nice.
