In this two hour workshop, you will learn the basics of Needle Felting with Tabitha from Tabandy Farms.

This beginner’s class is welcome to both adults and children over the age of 10. All materials are included such as the necessary felting needle, foam, and wool needed to complete a three-dimensional character. Felting is the ancient art of making a wool fabric or sculpture with wool or fibre using heat, friction and/or water with soap.

In this two and half hour workshop, you will learn how to use wool on silk to create a beautiful and fashionable scarf for winter.
 
This innovative class welcomes people of all ages. Wool in a variety of colours, as well as silk, will be provided to complete a designer felt scarf. Wool Combing with Julie Hofer

In this two-hour workshop, you will be provided with everything you need to participate in a variety of wool combing techniques.

Participants will cover all aspects of wool combing from basics to using the combs for blending fibre types and colours. All combs will be on loan so participants won’t need to bring their own. The use of diz will also be explored for participants to produce their own top. 

A kit with all the necessary materials will be provided inclusive with the ticket fee. A large variety of fibres are included to ensure that participants will be able to have a hand in the workshop.

ABOUT JULIE

Julie Hofer with her husband Joe, own Petlyn Fibre Products and Petlyn Park Alpacas. In 1999 they purchased their property and bought their fist girls, Pearl & Monica. It was Julie’s love of the fibre and interest in learning to process their own fleeces which took her on a search to find the appropriate tools needed. After finding it difficult to obtain combs and other fibre processing items in Australia, they embarked on an 18-month research and trial to create their own.

New products are added to their range periodically, which usually start from requests coming from other like-minded fibre lovers who are always on the lookout for more tools. 

Julie enjoys spinning, weaving, felting, and sewing. She finds that her main constraint is not having enough time. Along with the 200+ coloured alpacas, they have three grown children, two granddaughters, and a grandson.

Weaving: Woven Textile Art with Fibre Artist Julianne Ehlert-Connor

In this two hour workshop, you will learn how to weave with a loom and use weaving tools to produce a beautiful woven wall hanging. 

Woven Textile Art is a form of weaving which is highly textural, organic and can be intricate in design. Sydney-based Fibre Artist Julianne Ehlert-Connor from Fibre Art Australia will introduce you to weaving with a loom. You will be using various weaving tools during the workshop. Choosing from one of three colour fibre packs, you will be taught the skills you need to get started on your loom. Many of the weaving techniques will show how to use natural fibre (wool and alpaca) to create volume and texture in your weaving. You will use the fibre to create more than just a weaving. You leave with a piece of Woven Textile Art that you will be proud to display.

What participants will be learning: How to use a loom and weaving tools. Participants will also learn a range of weaving techniques and ways of using wool and fibre to create texture and designs in their weavings.

Materials included: A wooden loom and a fibre pack. This includes natural fibre such as woollen yarn, alpaca yarn and woollen roving with some hand-dyed by Julianne. Plus, take home a Beginner's Guide to Weaving written by Julianne. It includes detailed instructions with step by step photos of the techniques taught during the workshop.

Sydney-based designer Jullianne Ehlert Connor has over 10 years of experience in handmade designs. It was only a matter of time before she fell in love with fibre and weaving. Hand dyeing most of the yarn and fibre herself, she creates Woven Textile Art which is highly textural, organic and intricate in designs. Many of her pieces are influenced by the colours and contrasts of the Australian landscape.

Gin and Cocktail Masterclass by Underground Spirits

In this one hour workshop, you will learn about the wonderful world of Underground Spirits, their award-winning gin, and how to make three delicious cocktails.

Underground Spirits Co-Founder Andrew Galbraith will be running the masterclass to tell you about their meteoric rise to success and how to make three delicious cocktails for friends and family. Since 2017, they have earned 17 awards in total. While the complete list may be too long to mention, they earned a gold medal for gin in the 2017 Global Spirits Awards Las Vegas, a silver medal for gin in the 2017 Melbourne International Spirits Competition, and a "Best Gin Innovation Award" in the 2018 Gin Guide Awards, to name a few.
