Alexandra Rose Designs

Alexandra Rose Designs, formerly Eleda Fine Jewellery, is the latest vision by Jeweller Ian Ward who has been in the business of designing and retailing jewellery for over 30 years. They focus on designs that draw out the colours of the Australian landscape as stated in their website. Think brilliant blue skies, rusted red earth, and turquoise oceans.

“I got started in jewellery a long time ago by doing an apprenticeship in London,” says Ian. He learned through an apprenticeship in London’s famous new Bond Street, home to many of the world’s most prestigious jewellers.

Fast forward to 2012, he opened Eleda Fine Jewellery whose popularity grew in and out of the Markets. Now in 2018, the business is now moving in a new direction as Alexandra Rose Designs jewellery. Whereas Eleda touched on the roots of his design studio, Alexandra Rose looks to further expand his label by incorporating opals and pearls from Queensland and Broome respectively.

“Although the designs stay the same to a certain degree, each piece is individual because the opal and the pearl are always individual,” says Ian. In addition to opal and pearl, Alexandra Rose Designs sources a variety of other materials to produce uniquely designed items such as bangles, pendants, earrings and necklaces.

Come meet and speak with Ian about the philosophy and process behind his eye-catching designs. Alexandra Rose Designs will be at the Old Bus Depot Markets for Jewel of Canberra on the 11th of November. You can also follow Alexandra Rose Designs on their Facebook Page and head to their website to see their collections.
