Christmas Trading 2019

The Old Bus Depot Markets will be open Sunday the 1st and 8th then Saturday & Sunday (14th & 15th) (21st & 22nd) in December before Christmas! Find out more about the booking process, with bookings taken via our website. November market bookings will be as normal. All stallholders will be required to trade both Saturdays and Sundays for the last two weekends to maintain a fun and engaging weekend trade. Casual stallholders only

“Casual stallholders” are defined as stallholders who have not been assigned a permanent stall in the market every Sunday.

  • For casual Stallholders, our Christmas Markets Booking Form is available on our website.
  • Bookings will be prioritised based on general attendance of the markets, requested location of stall (i.e. outside would get a higher priority), quality and uniqueness of your product.   
  • Marketing this year will reflect the strong schedule that was applied to promote the Canberra Wool Expo, so will include printed media, radio, television and social media. We encourage you all to promote December trading through your own marketing channels as that made a major effect on the success of the Canberra Wool Expo.
  • To keep the markets interesting for visitors, there will be capped limits on some categories of products. We will try to accommodate everyone, offering refunds for overbooked categories if necessary.
  • This year a security fee is included in the rates for Saturday & Sunday (14th & 15th) (21st & 22nd), so stalls can be set up on Saturday morning and left overnight. It is advised to take home your valuables and cover your stall with a sheet (or similar). Security staff will be on site from 4 pm Saturday until 7 am Sunday morning. In the unlikely occurrence, your stall needs to be moved on Sunday, we will contact you before the weekend to discuss details. 
  • Please allow us on or by 15 November for us to confirm your stall space.
  • All bookings for December markets must be paid by Thursday 28th November. Failure to make timely payment will result in the cancellation of your bookings and your stall will be allocated to someone on the waiting list. There are no exceptions to this policy.
  • During the Christmas period, cancellations must be made five days prior to the market you would like to cancel.  If you cancel by the Tuesday before your market date, we will offer you a credit for another market. Please note we do not refund fees.
  • Please note a 1% surcharge will apply for all card payments over the phone. Online payments have no surcharge.
  • All bookings are subject to a final review. There may be situations beyond our control where bookings may have to be canceled. Your stall may not be in the location you have preference ie. Upper level, lower level, Kingston foreshore space, fitters workshop and outside.

 

Regular stallholders only

  • Regular stallholders will automatically be booked in for 1st, 8th, 14th & 15th, 21st & 22nd in December. Please fulfill the stall fee payment either via the online booking form or over the phone.
  • Please contact us before November 15th if you cannot attend any dates in December to help us with our market planning.
  • Marketing this year will reflect the strong schedule that was applied to promote the Canberra Wool Expo, so will include printed media, radio, television and social media. We encourage you all to promote December trading through your own marketing channels as that made a major effect on the success of the Canberra Wool Expo.
  • You are expected to participate on both Saturday and Sunday for the 14th & 15th, 21st & 22nd at price of $142.50 per weekend.
  • Cancellations are taken on a per day basis. In the event that regulars are unable to participate on both Saturday and Sunday, your regular stall space cannot be guaranteed.
  • A reminder that for regular stallholders, the first Saturday (14th December) is compulsory. There are no exceptions to the first Saturday commitment for regular stallholders, so if you need to find staff to run your stall for Saturday 14th December, please make arrangements soon.

Trestle table hire $10 per day
Power (subject to availability) $21 per day
Corner (subject to availability) $35.70 per day
Daily public liability insurance $15 per day

20 markets include any markets trading in October and November
