Road closures for the the Australian Running Festival

The Australian Running Festival, incorporating the Canberra Times Canberra Marathon, will take place on Sunday 9 April 2017. The event format will be consistent with last year and should have minimal impact to the Old Bus Depot Markets operations and surrounding residential areas.

Sunday’s events consist of a Half, Full and Ultra Marathon with all events starting and finishing in the Parliamentary Triangle. Road closures will be in place from 4am until 9.45am.

Access to the markets will be possible at all times via Telopea Park East or Wentworth Avenue. After 9.45am access to the market for customers will be possible from all directions.

Access to the markets prior to 9.45am

North via Northbourne Ave and Commonwealth Ave Bridge (**note that the southbound lanes of Kings Avenue bridge will be closed prior to 9:45am)

  • Use Commonwealth Avenue, State Circle, Canberra Avenue, Manuka Circle, Telopea Park East

South from Tuggeranong

  • Use Adelaide Avenue, State Circle, Canberra Avenue, Manuka Circle, Telopea Park East

West from Belconnen

  • Use Parkes Way, Commonwealth Avenue, State Circle, Canberra Avenue, Manuka Circle, Telopea Park East

East from Queanbeyan

  • Use Canberra Avenue and Wentworth Drive
