You know where our home is, in the wonderful heritage listed Old Bus Depot. And the good news is, we’re here to stay!
Andrew Baird, Tim Field and Maynard Gold are Tinker’s Cuss. These guys are an acoustic folk trio driven by strong three part harmonies that you won’t often hear live. Hailing from England, Wagga and Canberra, all three now call Canberra home and describe their style as folk with an edge.
Burek. Yummy handmade deliciousness. Made from pastry that is stretched out until it’s very thin, and then baked full of either sweet or savoury fillings. Haven’t tried it? Then you should definitely come and taste the best burek in town from Burek Bakery at the markets.
Crafted³ business owner Natalie Hare wanted to make sure people can have their cake and eat it too. Being anaphylactic herself, Natalie knew what it was like to be challenged by certain foods, and was often saddened by children with dietary restrictions having to miss out. So she started her cupcake business to cater for them – and her cakes are amazing!
Forget hunting for eggs at home and head to the markets to hunt for small antiques and collectables at Portobello Road this Easter Sunday, 5 April.
Part of any good day out at the markets is the entertainment. Whether you stop to watch our talented buskers do their thing, or just enjoy their music as background to your shopping expedition, we all agree we just wouldn’t be the same without our talented bunch of performers. This month we put the spotlight on The Guitar Cases with their folk-blues style.
Every now and then we find a stallholder for the markets that just gets it. One that fits in superbly with one of our theme days. This is the case with Danielle Spiller of Out of the Ark who will be showcasing her wares as part of Retro Depot in March.
